[KAIMUKI, OAHU, JANUARY 2015]  - The Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center proudly announces it's 2015 Spring Musical, "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)".  This colorful and fun musical features a talented cast of students from 10 different public elementary, middle, and high schools as well as KHSPAC Alumni.  You will be transported to another world as you watch them bring to life this classic fairy tale through music and dance!
Over sixty students from public schools around the island responded to the call for auditions, but only 28 were handpicked to showcase their talents in this exciting musical.  The Production Team led by Director Michael Ng, a KHS Alumnus, had a difficult job, but in the end students were selected from Kaimuki High and Middle School, Aiea High School, Hokulani Elementary School, Jarrett Middle School, Kalani High School, Kalihi Uka Elementary School, Ma’ema’e Elementary School, McKinley High School and Washington Middle School.  Also selected to join the cast are KHSPAC Alumni Candice Kiyabu, Samuel Tafolo, Anette Aga, Anthony Lee, Robert Piamon, Travis Namba, and Henry Kaholi.
“Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)” marks Director Michael Ng’s first triumphant return to the KHSPAC stage since his Learning Center Directorial debut in KHSPAC’s 2012 production of “Grease”, which played to nearly sold out audiences.  “We have some surprises in store,” says Ng of “Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)”, “but you’ll need to see it with your own eyes!”  “Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)” is Produced by M.J. Matsushita, who is also doing double-duty as Set Designer.  Ng and Matsushita are supported by their Production Team of seasoned regulars, Nanilisa Pascua as Music Director and Deanna Luster as Choreographer.
Public show dates: February 20, 21, 27 & 28, March 6 & 7 at 7:30pm.  Matinees on February 22, March 1 & 8 at 3pm.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for elementary, middle, and high school students (with ID), military, and senior citizens over 65.  Box office opens one hour before each performance for ticket sales.  Call KHSPAC at 733-4913 for more information.
